The Hat-Pak

No, this isn’t an updated version of Sammy and Frank’s bunch (Brat Pack for the younger readers), just a new product I happen to like. After finally having some time to sit down and go through business cards, contacts and products from the Las Vegas PPAI show, I came across the Hat-Pak sample I received. Just one of many diverse and unique new products, I might add.

I think one of my most enjoyable conversations came in the final hours of the show. Thinking that I’d seen it all and done it all over the first three days, I wandered into a small area of booths that I had somehow missed (kind of over by the new product showcase). There I ran across Karla and the Hat-Pak booth. Saving you the description of her enthusiasm (which was amazing) I’ll just give you a brief rundown on the product itself. The Hat-Pak is a small sweat-proof wallet that Velcros to the inside of a baseball hat or other headwear (construction helmet, rock-climbing helmet, motorcycle helmet, etc…). Admittedly I was tired and in a little bit of a product overload, but that soon changed as I realized (because she told me) how such a little item could have a huge impact on people’s everyday lives.

Included with the Hat-Pack are three Velcro strips (so the Pak can be used for different hats), but more importantly, it included a small contact card with places for name address and pertinent medical information—information that could be vital to people while participating in events such as marathons, baseball games or simply more dangerous professions. The Hat-Pak provides instant contact and medical information in event of an accident. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems that it would be a great product for sports teams, charity walks/runs or even safety campaigns in schools.

I encourage everyone to visit www.4hatpak.com to see for themselves. If nothing else, it’s a good way to give a small supplier support and feedback on the viability of a new product. I hope you’ll let me (and the Hat-Pak folks) know what you think.
